Tokens
What tokens are, buying them, what uses them, the spending log and limits, and what happens when they run out.
This page is a draft. It follows the plugin as it is being built, and details may change before release.
The free plan
Every store gets 30 tokens a month, enough for 5 short videos, for as long as Try-On is installed. Nothing runs out and nothing needs renewing: the twelfth month works like the first, whether you ever pay or not. Free videos are made at draft quality, the quickest and cheapest setting, and they carry the Try-On logo in a corner until you buy tokens; either way they are yours to publish, and they keep working for as long as you keep them. Your shop’s admin shows how many tokens are left this month and when the count starts again.
Buying tokens lifts both the number of videos and the quality you can choose, and the videos made from then on carry no logo. Account & spending is where all of it shows.
What tokens are
Tokens are Try-On’s own unit. You buy them in advance and spend them per result. Every price is shown in tokens before anything is spent, and what each amount of money gives in tokens is on the pricing page.
Tokens do not expire, and we charge no fee for holding them.
Buy tokens
Buy tokens in Account & spending opens Try-On’s buying page on connect.try-on.co in a new tab. It shows which store and account the tokens are for, your tokens now and after the purchase, the amounts, and your billing details; the payment provider’s form inside the page takes the payment. The provider sells on Try-On’s behalf, charges any tax and sends the receipt. Tokens are added as soon as the payment is confirmed, and your admin tab updates by itself.
What uses tokens
- Checking each image before its video is made, even when the image is turned down.
- Each video, by its length and quality.
- Your own words for what happens in a video, as a paid extra.
If a video fails before it’s made, its tokens come back. A render that fails at the generator still costs its tokens, because we are charged for it either way. The plugin says so before you queue, and your spending log labels those runs.
The spending log and limits
Account & spending shows the tokens left, this month’s use against your monthly limit, and what the tokens went on. The spending log lists every token used or added, newest first, with the product, what it was for, who started it and the tokens left after; it filters by month, kind and product, and downloads as CSV.
Set a monthly limit, past which nothing new starts, and a warning when your tokens run low (a notice and an email).
When tokens run out
The plugin shows what a render costs before it queues it, and refuses to queue what your balance can’t cover. Videos you already have stay in your media library and keep playing.
