Install the plugin

What Try-On needs, installing it as a WooCommerce add-on, and the one-time setup of sizes, body profiles, video styles and defaults.

This page is a draft. It follows the plugin as it is being built, and details may change before release.

What you need

  • A WordPress store running WooCommerce. Try-On is a WooCommerce add-on: WordPress won’t activate it without WooCommerce, and offers to install WooCommerce first.
  • A Try-On account. You create it when you connect your store; there is no AI account to open and no key to paste.

Install

Try-On installs from Plugins › Add New in your WordPress admin, like any plugin from the WordPress.org directory. Once it’s active, the Plugins screen links to its settings.

Set it up once

The settings are in WooCommerce › Settings › Try-On: Sizes, Videos, Store, and Account & spending. Nothing is sent anywhere until the store is connected, so you can set everything up first.

Sizes

Choose, from the attributes your store really uses, which one means size, optionally the video column (usually colour), and the default body profile. Nothing is guessed from attribute names. Where each size goes shows every size in your store and the profile that shows it.

Body profiles

Products › Body profiles. Each profile is a body for one size: height, measurements and appearance, and the store sizes it shows. A size that another profile already shows is locked. A profile can use a photo of a real person only with that person’s written release. Profiles can be grouped into models, such as Woman and Man, so one size can be shown on more than one.

Video styles

Products › Video styles. A style is what happens in the video: the action (a preset such as an idle sway, a half-turn and back, or a look over the shoulder, or your own words as a paid extra), the scene, the framing and the starting pose, and the default length and quality. One style is the store’s default.

Video defaults

WooCommerce › Settings › Try-On › Videos: the default clip length, quality and style, and how many videos a product gets.
