What is sent where

What the plugin sends to Try-On, what it never sends, how long Try-On keeps it, and where your videos live.

This page is a draft. It follows the plugin as it is being built, and details may change before release.

Before you connect

Nothing. Until your store is connected, the plugin sends nothing anywhere.

What the plugin sends

  • Your store’s address and name.
  • The garment images you choose, and in a catalogue run you consent to, your products’ images for classifying.
  • The values of your body profiles.
  • A photo of a real person, only where you hold that person’s written release.
  • Which member of your staff started a video, as an opaque reference: not their name or email.

What it never sends

Nothing about your shoppers. Your storefront makes no calls to Try-On: it plays the videos stored in your own media library.

How long Try-On keeps it

  • Uploaded images are deleted once they’ve been used, and within a little over two hours in any case.
  • A copy of a finished video may stay with Try-On, to run and check the service: never one made from a photo of a real person, never the images it was made from, and never used to train anything.
  • Finished video files stay available for 72 hours after they’re ready, so the plugin can fetch them, then they’re deleted. The plugin fetches them straight away.
  • Your videos live in your media library. They’re yours, and they stay even if you remove the plugin.

Usage data

The plugin can send anonymous usage data to Try-On, only if you turn it on. It’s off until you do.

The same, for anyone rather than for merchants, with who helps run Try-On and what its image fetcher is, is on What happens to your data. More in the privacy policy.
