What happens to your data

What your store sends to Try-On, what it never sends, how long it's kept, and who helps run the service. The step-by-step version for merchants is in the docs.

The service the plugin uses

The Try-On plugin is free software you install in WooCommerce. It makes nothing by itself: the images and videos are made by Try-On, a service run by us at connect.try-on.co, which your store connects to with an account and a key you create. Installing the plugin sends nothing; connecting a store is what starts it.

Using it is subject to our terms of use and privacy policy, and what a render costs is on the pricing page. Questions and reports go to support.

What the plugin sends

Nothing, until you connect your store to a Try-On account. Once it's connected, and only for the work you start:

  • your store's address and name;
  • the garment images you choose, and, in a catalogue run you consent to, your products' images for classifying;
  • the values of your body profiles;
  • a photo of a real person, only where you hold that person's written release;
  • which member of your staff started a video, as an opaque reference, not a name or email.

What it never sends

Nothing about your shoppers. Your storefront makes no calls to Try-On and sets no cookies of ours: it plays the videos stored in your own media library.

How long it's kept

  • Uploaded images are deleted once they've been used, and within a little over two hours in any case.
  • Finished video files stay available for 72 hours so the plugin can fetch them, then they're deleted. The plugin fetches them straight away.
  • A copy of a finished video may stay with us, to run and check the service. Never one made from a photograph of a real person, never the images it was made from, never used to train anything, and never shown outside the people who run Try-On.
  • Your videos live in your media library. They're yours, and they stay even if you remove the plugin.

Your account and payments

Your Try-On account holds what you give it when you sign up (your name, a business name and your email) and, when you buy tokens, your billing details. Card details go to the payment provider, in its own form inside the buying page; Try-On never sees them.

You can disconnect a store at any time, from the plugin or from your Try-On account. Its key stops working at once.

Who helps run it

Try-On runs on its own servers. A few service providers help: one runs the AI models that make the images and videos, one carries the connection to our servers and delivers the finished files, one sends our email, and, once tokens are on sale, a payment provider sells them on our behalf. The privacy policy will say who they are and where your data is kept.

This website

try-on.co sets two cookies, lang and lang_picked, which remember the language you read it in and the one you chose from the menu, and nothing else, and it runs no analytics script and nothing from a third party. Visits are counted from our own server logs, with addresses cut short first. Everything on it, fonts included, is served from try-on.co itself.

The Try-On image fetcher

If you see TryOn/1.0 (+https://try-on.co) in your server's logs, that is Try-On fetching an image that a store connected to Try-On has named: usually that store's own product photo, to make a try-on video from.

  • It fetches images only, over HTTP or HTTPS on the standard ports.
  • It never reaches private or internal addresses, follows at most three redirects, and stops reading at a size limit.
  • It keeps nothing: the image is used to make the video and deleted afterwards, like an upload.
